Dia in Music Practice

Want to study music seriously?

Platform One is an independent organisation that works in partnership with the Isle of Wight College and the University College Chichester in order to provide high quality music and music technology provision at all levels.

Courses are based in Platform One's own dedicated premises - a 5 minute walk from the Isle of Wight College - which accommodates three professional recording studios, music post production facilities, a specialist music technology suite, fully equipped rehearsal rooms and DJ technology resources.

Endorsement deals with Marshall Amplification, Ashdown Engineering, Pearl Drums, Vestax, Peavey International and Audient ensure that quality equipment is available to all students studying with Platform One.

In addition to your main qualification, students will have the opportunity to study for additional, complementary qualifications. These currently include practical grades on your main instrument taught by our experienced specialist tutors, traditional music theory grades and key skills as well as an enrichment programme of extra curricular activities.

The course is full time over two years and is equivalent to three full A2 Levels making this course an ideal pathway to University. Last academic year 89% of students progressed onto university courses. The course is continuous assessment so there are no end of year examination disasters - you know where you are right the way through the course. In year two of the course students compose and record their own album and go on a residential music tour.
