If you are interested in a career in the Public sector such us Police, Army, Fire Services, Customs and Excise, Social Care or Government Administration then this is the course for you. You will find out about the role of the Public Sector and Uniformed services, understand the legal system, develop leadership skills and take part in group work.

What will they be doing?
The BTEC National Diploma in Uniformed Public Services course consists of eighteen units. 6 core units and 12 specialist units.

Specialist Units

• Physical Preparation and Fitness for the Uniformed Services
• International Perspectives for the Uniformed Public Services
• Outdoor and Adventurous Expeditions
• Skills for Land based Outdoor and Adventurous Activities
• Crime and its Effects on Society
• Command and Control in the Uniformed Public Services
• The Planning for and Management of Major incidents
• Responding to Emergency Service Incidents
• Uniformed Public Services Employment
• Understanding the Criminal Justice System and Police Powers
• Communication and Technology in the Uniformed Public Services
• Custodial care of Individuals

How will I be assessed?
All assessment, for this course, is undertaken internally via a series of assignments. Students need to pass all assignments to complete a unit and to pass all units to complete the course and gain the BTEC National Diploma qualification. All students are encouraged to complete the merit and distinction grades.

Where can I go after completing the course?
The BTEC National Diploma is designed to equip learners with a range of knowledge, understanding and skills required for success when moving towards a career in the uniformed services (Police, Emergency Fire Services, Prison Service, Security or Armed services). This is a level 3 qualification which will also allow students to progress to Higher Education.
