Not long ago A+ energy efficient buildings class had been considered an advanced innovation, however, currently, A++ class or surplus energy buildings pose a new challenge. This of course does not mean that buildings will not need any energy, but it will be consumed rather sparingly, employing natural light and wind, retrieving heat from the ground, water or air, and transferring it to heating, cooling, ventilation, hot water preparation and lighting systems.
Building energetics is one of the most topical and perspective engineering specialities of the recent years, as energy is used to satisfy daily consumer needs, convenience and health in accommodation. Building Energetics study programme includes a wide area of energy consumption, transfer and production - from the renewable energy resources exploitation, smart energy supply and allocation to the premises heating and cooling, ensuring best atmosphere therein.
In the course of this study programme students acquire knowledge and skills of planning, implementation, maintenance, analysis and evaluation of building energy supply systems - from energy source to consumers, considering the need for the later as well as its impact on the environment and saving possibilities.
The study programme provides basic knowledge of energy engineering. In addition, students learn to ensure comfortable environment in buildings by means of planning, applying and maintaining heat energy consumption, production and supply systems.
This first-cycle (bachelor's degree) study programme's language of instruction is Lithuanian or English.
