What's it all about?:
If you are interested in business, administration and finance but not sure which route to follow then this course is for you. You will learn how businesses are run and also start to improve the skills that you will need to get a job in business, administration or finance, or progress to a higher level course.

Progression:
Upon successful completion you may progress to the Higher Diploma in Business offered at the College, or seek employment in business, administration or finance.

Entry Requirements:
There are no specific entry requirements. However, you will be invited to attend an informal interview to assess your suitability for the course.

Duration: One year Course Overview
What does the course involve?:

This Diploma is built around three main themes:
  • business enterprise - looks at how to develop ideas, how to carry out research and promote products or services
  • business administration - introduces business administration and its importance to organisations
  • finance - looks at the knowledge and skills needed to manage personal and business finances.


Designed to meet the needs of employers, you will cover major topics including financial services, customer service, sales and business communication. You will also get the opportunity to set up and run your own business, and sell a product that you have created.

Additional and Specialist Learning (ASL)
This level of Diploma could include the following ASL:
  • web design strategies and management
  • international businesses
  • human resources management
  • criminal law in business.
