Course programme
This innovative full-time foundation degree offers students the opportunity to not only study for a degree but also gain a professional accounting qualification with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). This course also offers students the opportunity to gain invaluable work experience within an accounting environment of at least 10 weeks over the two years.
The programme content has been designed in collaboration with local employers to meet their knowledge and skills requirements. The programme fully integrates work-based learning with academic study. Accounting subjects include Principles of Accounting, Costing for Performance, The Enterprising Accountant. Students will develop a high level of business and accounting expertise whilst learning how to research, analyse, and synthesise information in order to identify and solve problems.
Warwickshire College was granted Foundation degree awarding powers by Her Majesty's Most Honourable Privy Council in September 2014 reflecting the very high confidence placed in us by independent higher education assessors after a year-long detailed scrutiny. FdA Business and Accounting is one of the first of our new awards following a successful approval during 2015. The highly experienced team at Leamington have been delivering Business Foundation degrees, awarded by partner universities, since 2007 and have had the pleasure of seeing many graduates progress to wide range of jobs, higher degrees and other successful positions.

How will I be assessed?
METHOD OF ASSESSMENT:
Assessment methods are diverse and include essays, problem based assignments, work-based projects requiring oral and written reports, individual exercises, experimental work and work-based assignments. You will also be required to undertake 400 hours or 10 weeks of work placement within the two years.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants will normally be expected to have 120 UCAS tariff points, this is equivalent to:
• BTEC National Certificate or Diploma in relevant subject
• One A Level at C in a relevant subject
• Kite-marked Access to HE
Students are expected to have Maths and English at grade C or equivalent The college welcomes applications from students with relevant work experience who do not have the formal academic qualifications and who have been working within the event management sector for at least two years. All applicants will be assessed on individual experience and Accreditation of Prior (Experiential) Learning will be considered.

Mode of attendance is full time, with attendance at College for two/three days per week.
