Course programme
Warwickshire's Business Foundation Degree is unique; at the centre of our programme of learning is the student's employability and the understanding of how businesses function and thrive. This degree offers students the chance to immerse themselves in practical aspects and academic study of the business, commercial operation, financial management and resource deployment. Commercial SME and corporate work based learning and placements are an integral feature of our Business and Management degree programme. As is developing understanding of how key aspects of business are integral to marketing strategy, customer experience, consumer psychology and why contingency planning is essential to successful business operation.
Students will be introduced to the professional standards of corporate business, and be exposed to entrepreneurial concepts that will enable them to see opportunities for creating businesses or engage in a rewarding career.
Warwickshire College was granted Foundation degree awarding powers by Her Majesty's Most Honourable Privy Council in September 2014 reflecting the very high confidence placed in us by independent higher education assessors after a year-long detailed scrutiny. FdA Business and Management is one of the first of our new awards following a successful course approval during 2015. The highly experienced teams at Leamington and Rugby have been delivering Business Foundation degrees, awarded by partner universities, since 2007 and have had the pleasure of seeing many graduates progress to wide range of jobs, higher degrees and other successful positions.

How will I be assessed?The degree programme is entirely assessed using a series of assignments throughout the two year programme. There are no formal examinations for successful completion of the course.
What is the entry process?Applicants should apply directly to the College Student Recruitment Team on 0300 45 600 49 or e-mail he@warwickshire.ac.uk for an application form.
What are the entry requirements?Minimum qualifications: Full level 3
Applicants will normally be expected to have 160 UCAS tariff points
The College welcomes applications from students with relevant work experience who do not have the formal academic qualifications and who have been working within the business and management sector for at least two years. All applicants will be assessed on individual experience and Accreditation of Prior (Experiential) Learning will be considered.
You will undertake at least 20 days of work placement in your first year and the remaining days in the second year. The normal work placement will be on two days per week.

Successful completion of the foundation degree will lead to opportunities to complete a third year of study to achieve a BA Honours. Alternatively students should be equipped to gain their first position in a career within SME or larger businesses. Those students with an aptitude for entrepreneurial business will have skills sets which will support them to develop their own business ideas
