Business BTEC National Diploma Entry Requirements

• A minimum of 4 GCSEs at C or above including English and preferably Maths or equivalent OR
• A BTEC First Diploma in Business with a satisfactory reference and equivalent English and preferably Maths OR
• A relevant equivalent Level 2 qualification with equivalent English and preferably Maths.

Entry is subject to a successful interview.

Content
On this BTEC course, which is equivalent to 3 A Levels, you will study 18 units over the two year period. These provide an interesting and wide ranging programme of study that introduces you to all aspects of business. You will study a range of 4 core topics for the Diploma. These are:

• Exploring Business Activity
• Investigating Business Resources
• Introduction to Marketing
• Effective People, Communication and Information.

The additional optional units are selected from six specialisations:

• Accounting
• Marketing
• Human Resources
• Management
• Law
• Retailing

Additionality
You may also study supplementary subjects to help you to specialise in a particular field. GCSE Maths and English may be available as re-sits.
Key skills will form part of your final qualifications, at Level 2 or 3 as may be suitable, including Communications and Application of Number.

Assessment Assessments will be via a combination of assignments, case studies and exercises. At the end of the course a portfolio of evidence will be presented. Progression
This course will prepare you for entry into employment in a variety of fields. The National Diploma is accepted as entry to higher education or professional courses and carries equivalent UCAS points for graded A levels.
