• One Business School or University Level 4 Elective (both semesters)

Year 2 (Level 5)

• Research Methods (both semesters)
• European Business in its Global Context
• Business Law and Ethics
• For Single Honours: two core modules from any other Single Honours Programme
• For Joint Honours in two Business School subjects: two core modules from the second subject
• One Business School or University Level 5 Elective (both semesters)

Year 3 or 4 (Level 6)

• International Business
• Strategic Management
• For Single Honours:

o Business Development and the Entrepreneur
o Applied Business Decision-making

• For Joint Honours in two Business School subjects: two core modules from the second subject
• Either Dissertation (both semesters) or Independent Study (both semesters) and one Business School or University Level 6 elective (both semesters).

Employment prospects
From the BA Business programmes students move into a range of occupations. Recently our graduates have embarked on general management careers with companies such as NatWest, Electrolux and BAE Systems. Others have joined firms engaged in consultancy and business analysis work such as Arthur Andersen and PricewaterhouseCoopers. A small number go on to Masters-level education or continuing professional education (for example, in law).

All degrees may be taken over three years, or as four-year programmes with the third year spent studying overseas (International) or in a relevant work environment (with Professional Experience).

Business may also be taken as a Joint Honours degree combined with Accounting, Business Economics, Economics, Financial Management, Logistics, Management or Marketing.
