About the course

Whatever your business aspirations, whether you would like to run your own enterprise, work for a multi-national, or help a small business to grow, this study programme will uncover business techniques to help you on your way. It will be project-led, where you can evidence your learning and skills through running your own team enterprise and visiting Plymouth businesses. This study programme is a great hands-on year for young people who would like to improve their GCSE grades to help them move on to an apprenticeship or a higher level course. The OCR Diploma will give you some major insights into business from a real perspective. We dont stick to textbooks, we get out and meet businesses from all over the City, to help you understand the types of companies and jobs available in Plymouth. The Diploma is assessed through project work from your business visits, case studies, discussions on your findings and some presentations. There are no exams on this Diploma, we assess you as you learn. We have integrated the units so you can use what you learn in one area to give you evidence of learning for another unit! We have a strong enterprise record in the business team too, so we give you employability skills from a range of activities including local and national competitions, creating events and raising money for charity. Getting involved in enterprise will also help your maths and English skills, to make you ready for work or the next level course.
