This course introduces you to a range of business and management subjects, including human resource management, accounting, marketing, business strategy, business environment and events management operations and business planning. You will learn how the subjects tie together to form business strategy and also find out which specialism suits you and your personality. You will have the opportunity to apply your skills to real life business situations and use your abilities to solve business dilemmas. You’ll develop your innovative and entrepreneurial skills, and your personal skills including report writing and presentations, research, individual and group working skills, leadership skills and your self confidence. All of which are vital in any business role.
During the 2 years of study you will have the opportunity to visit different business organisations. These visits will incur an additional cost.

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS UCAS Tariff Points: Pre-2017 Entry - 160 points, Post-2017 Entry - 64 points The tariff points can be made up of: A Levels (GCE and VCE): 2 A Levels at Grade C BTEC Extended Diploma: Grade MPP BTEC Diploma: Grade MM BTEC 90 Credit Diploma: Grade DM Access to HE: Grade P45 Minimum number of GCSEs at Grade C or above: 5 which must include: GCSE English: Grade C or 4 GCSE Maths: Grade C or 4 Are Level 2 equivalents accepted?: Yes
Delivery and Assessment
Assessment is through course work, group discussions and individual and group presentations. Where possible guest speakers will be invited in from industry to enhance programme delivery.
Progression
This HND: Business course is ideal preparation for a range of careers in industry, business, the public sector and management. You can choose to enter the world of work straight after graduation or you will be able to progress on to university to complete your full Honours degree. This usually takes one additional year.
