Course Aims:
This qualification is particularly targeted at learners over 19yrs of age who:

- want to progress into other further or higher education courses, or into new work areas
- are returning, or planning to return, to work and who are seeking to update and/or add to their employment skills
- want to test out a vocational area to inform their career/employment choices
- for whatever reason have not previously achieved in education
- need to develop their literacy and/or numeracy skills.

Course Content:
The course will include a variety of units in Business, ICT and Marketing as follows:

- Understanding business organisation
- Understanding time management in th workplace
- Understanding business communication
- Developing communication skills for business
- Understanding the marketing environment
- Internet and Intranets
- Website Software
- Spreadsheet Software
- Word Processing Software
- Presentation Software
- Email

Duration:
One year

Exam:
Achievement of units is through internally set, internally assessed, internally verified and externally verified assessment activities.

Level:
Level 2

Progression:
Learners who are successful on this course may be able to progress directly to employment. Alternative learners may progress to a Level 3 course such as the Access to Higher Education Diploma in Business and ICT.
