This is a one year course and is equivalent to ‘A’ level.
You will be assessed by a variety of methods including project work, role play, practical demonstration and examination.  The overall qualification will be graded at Pass, Merit, Distinction, Distinction*.
You will be expected to undertake some research and written assignment work for the BTEC qualification in your own time.

The course will enable you to develop skills and knowledge that are essential for a positive transition into employment and to develop skills that are required by today’s employers.


Work experience will enable you to prepare for employment and to assist you to become more commercially aware.




A wide and varied range of subjects will be studied including Business Environment, Business Resources, Introduction to Marketing, Business Communications, Recruitment and Selection and Visual Merchandising. A strong focus is placed on developing English, Maths and IT and softer skills such as business awareness, communication skills, teamwork, self-management and people skills.
