Course programme

BA (Hons) Business Management

Key Features

The contemporary focus is provided through practical use of relevant ICT, customer focussed approaches, an international viewpoint and the integration of work related learning.

The first year of study assumes no prior knowledge and provides students with a solid foundation including the knowledge and skills required to succeed on a Business and Management degree course.

Assessment

Students will be assessed through a combination of coursework, examinations presentations and practical exercises. A dissertation on a business related topic must be completed in the final year. All students will have access to research methodology workshops and a personal supervisor for assistance with this.

Full time students will be required to undertake a summer placement between stages 2 and 3 of the programme which continues for one day per week for the first semester of the final year. The work placement manager will assist in finding a suitable placement for each student. This will be assessed through the work based project module.

Career Opportunities

Graduate management training schemes in a wide variety of business fields including: administration in either the public or private sector, finance, accountancy, operations, information technology, information systems and general management.
