Entry requirements: Direct entry - Minimum of 5 GCSEs 9-4 grade in English and Maths and a level 2 qualification and/or some level of experience of working in the conservation field.

Overview of the course:
You will cover a mixture of theory and practical activities. The Houghall estate provides the ideal environment for you to gain practical skills and knowledge and also gives you the opportunity to develop essential employability skills. The college also has excellent partnerships with external organisations giving you the opportunity to regularly work on external sites to gain vital experience and knowledge.
Topics:
Topics covered in the course: Maths & English, habitat management, preparing, undertaking and interpreting surveys, managing the work of volunteers, planning, delivering and evaluating environmental projects, site management and consulting with the local community.
Additional information
Following successful completion of the course, progression options include higher education and apprenticeships in the conservation curriculum area.
