About this course

Entry requirements: L2 Ladies/Gents Diploma or equivalent industry training, L2 Function skills in Maths/English or working towards.1 hour trade test to include;Creatively cut hair, one hair cutting services.The clients must have a full head of hair.They must be creative restyles that alters the shape of the hair.You must use blending/fading across a minimum 25% of the head for a minimum of one of the cuts. Clippers without attachments must be used for a minimum of one of the cuts.

Overview of the course:

8 hrs Barbering, 6hrs Maths & English if applicable (16-19 yrs
)
3 hrs practical session-working with paying clients

3 hrs theory/academic study skills

2 hrs cutting/shaving skills training

Homework is also an integral part of the course, where activities are completed via the college Moodle site.

Employer involvement will also be an integral part of the course in the form of guest lectures and master classes.


Topics:

This qualification covers a very wide range of skills and knowledge required for working in the barbering industry.
These are compulsory areas:

• Cut hair using a combination of barbering techniques

• Design and create facial hair shapes

• Shaving services
• Barbering consultation services
Optional unit

• Design and create patterns in the hair
