Construction and the Built Environment - Trowel Trades
C&G NVQ Level 2/3 & Construction Diploma Level 1,2 & 3 Brickwork (Day release)(2010/2011)
Study Method:
The various study methods include formal class meetings, student learning packages, project work and practical assessments.
Duration :One day weekly 9.00-5.00 (36 weeks)
Who the Course is For:
Applications are welcome from those with an interest in acquiring brickwork skills, knowledge and techniques, and working in the Construction Industry.
Assessment:
NVQ: Continuous assessment by college staff verified externally by the City & Guilds of London Institute. Health & Safety test taken externally.
Students are required to produce portfolio of workbased evidence which will be reviewed on a regular basis throughout the year.
Course Leads To:
You will be working towards a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ).
On completion of this level 3 award, students can enter for the level 3 qualification and gain access to further study on Construction Technicians courses.

NVQ Level 2
Industrial size brickwork tasks, marked to tolerances specified by the construction industry.
NVQ Level 3
Advanced brickwork techniques and some supervisory skills.
Level 3 units include:
Brick and Block walling
Dimensional positioning (setting out)
