Course programme

Year 1

This unit covers eight learning outcomes. At the end of the course you will be able to use CAD hardware and operating systems; identify key components of the software relating to the 2D drawing environment; use a range of viewing commands and set up the drawing space; use drawing commands to produce shapes and the software’s co-ordinate system to aid accurate drawing; and hatch, text and simple dimensioning routines.

Additional information

You will undertake three practical timed assessments on the computer using Auto CAD, there will also be a written test on the function of Auto CAD.
