Course programme

The CELTA Online is a 17-week blended learning course, which combines collaborative online study with face-to-face teaching practice. This option allows trainees to work flexibly, where and when it suits them. Input sessions are delivered online and include forum and ‘live room’ (virtual real-time classroom) tasks, which trainees work on independently or collaboratively. Trainees only need to travel to the St Giles CELTA centre for lesson planning, teaching practice, evaluation and feedback for two individual weeks throughout the 17-week period.

During the course, trainees will have six hours of teaching practice, observation of experienced teachers and coursework assignments. On successful completion of the course, you will receive an internationally recognised certificate, which can help you to find a good teaching job at a reputable school.
