Course programme

Course overview Heart and circulatory disease claims around 200,000 lives each year. A casualty’s survival rate will dramatically increase if an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is available and you have appropriately qualified personnel to use it. This course will ensure that delegates can use an AED competently and with confidence. Topics covered include: responsibilities and reporting, the assessment of a situation, dealing with and unresponsive casualty, AED functions, resuscitation, heart attacks, infection control, defibrillation procedure, choking, AED safety, paediatric defibrillation.
