Caring for Older People Course
About the Level 4 Caring for Older People Certificate
Currently, the UK has an ageing population. This means we are going to need more qualified and skilled carers on hand to look after our elderly. This Level 4 distance learning course has been designed with this in mind. Students who study the qualification with Stonebridge College will gain a thorough understanding of how best to care for old people.
Over the duration of the course, students will study seven modules. These modules will cover everything from the physiology of aging to holistic care methods. The course will also examine relevant government policy and analyse how these regulations affect the elderly community. Altogether the material will take approximately 200 hours to complete.
Who should study this course?
This course is aimed at individuals who currently work with old people, or want to change careers and secure work in the care sector. The diploma may also be useful to individuals who have elderly relatives to care for.
As with all of our home learning courses here at Stonebridge College, you do not need any prior qualifications if you want to enrol. All you need is a access to our online portal; the motivation to engage in home study and the desire to help the elderly.
What happens after the course?
On successful completion of this course, you will be primed and ready to start caring for the elderly community. If you enjoyed studying, you may consider studying another distance learning course with us. You may even go on to study social care at university.
Alternatively, you could go straight into employment. There ae plenty of opportunities in social car and the skills you learn on your home study course will come in useful for the rest of your professional life. Care jobs include but are not limited to:
Social worker
Care home manager
Support worker
