On completion of this course candidates will recognise the dangers associated with the damage to underground service apparatus, understanding the benefits of obtaining underground service drawings interpret the same drawings and demonstrate the correct use of the relevant pipe and cable locating equipment including the preparatory checks before and during use.

To provide participants with the knowledge and skill to take all necessary steps to establish the position of existing underground service apparatus before excavation in the ground.
