The aim of any technology based course should be to provide the student with the ability to apply his/her knowledge to the tasks required in the workplace. That’s why our CCNA Security & ASA Introduction course provides 2 days of intense hands-on practical training solidifying the concepts offered in the Cisco CCNA Security Official Certification Guide. Additionally, this course gives the attendees the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the Cisco ASA with practical exercises demonstrating how to configure the Cisco ASA to provide network security. Many companies employ the Cisco ASA to secure their network and knowledge of how to set up this appliance is a valuable skill for an individual who wishes to work in the network security arena.

The primary objective of the course is for attendees to gain a working knowledge of Cisco network security concepts and practices including:

  • Understanding security threats facing modern network infrastructures
  • Configuring Cisco routers using IOS Software security features
  • Configuring Authentication, Authorization & Accounting (AAA)
  • Mitigating threats to Cisco routers & networks using ACLs
  • Implementing secure network management & reporting

  • Implementing the Cisco IOS firewall feature set using SDM
