SIA - Security Guard/Door Supervisor - Level 2

D
Druid Boxer
5.0 18/05/2017
What I would highlight: I took the Security Guard/Door Supervisor - Level 2. Until I came on this course I thought security was all about standing there with your arms crossed trying to look hard. This couldn't be further from the truth, I have learnt so much its unbelievable! After doing my SIA training I have a new found respect for security staff. The instructor actually engages the class room and treats you like an adult, nothing like college where the teachers treat you like a five year old.
What could be improved: Nothing.

What I would highlight: I gave the Security Training (SIA) a five star case I truly enjoyed the training course. This is the second time I enrolled in with Specialist Security Group and I would honestly recommend them. They are indeed a proper company. I found the Specialist Security Group much better than the alternative providers. I told my friends also about SSG because I think it is a great place to learn! Thank you for your support. It was admirable! Great job.

What I would highlight: We would just like to say a big thank you to the guys at Specialist Security Group on behalf the Forex team. Our book signing event wouldn't have been as successful as it was without your contribution. The Specialist Security Group did exactly what they promised and delivered the course on time. I would also like to mention big Joe Turnbull in particular for the constant care and attention going above and beyond expectations.

CCTV Systems: Who Needs Training and Who needs a CCTV Licence?

The Security Industry regulated by the Security Industry Authority (SIA) and certain security sectors and security personnel now need to be licensed as a mandatory requirement. This includes contracted Security Officers and CCTV Operators who are required to be licenced, part of that licensing is proof of competency. This can only be achieved by undertaking nationally recognised and accredited training from an approved Training provider, to the National standards set by the SIA for each section of the Industry.

Full SIA Training in CCTV operation is in most cases a compulsory requirement for anyone seeking employment in the field of CCTV operation. If, however, you already have some form of UK qualification in this field, you may be able to forgo some or all of the SIA course. Similarly, if you hold a security qualification gained overseas, this may also exempt you from the full SIA-approved program. This is subject to SIA approval of your qualification, and the training may not be any more than three years old, due to the ever-changing standards of technology.
