2. Course description This 90-hour qualification is the next step towards becoming a counsellor. You learn about yourself, counselling theory, and the therapeutic relationship. You can study for: (a) 3 hours a week for one year (September to June) or (b) 1 day a week for one and a half terms (February to June). Because the Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills runs from September to January, the February start date allows for immediate progression to the Level 3, (if you are successful in gaining a place).

3. Entry requirements You must be at least 21 years old and complete a written application and interview. 4. Equipment required No equipment required 5. Assessment method Through a portfolio, which includes reflections on your learning and feedback from peers and tutor. You also transcribe and analyse an audiotape of yourself in the role of the listener. There is an external assessment which involves a written response to a DVD in class time.
