CERTIFICATE IN BASIC BOOKKEEPING

Course Aims:
This course is designed to give students a flexible and modern approach to key topics in book-keeping.

Course Content:
The following accounts based topics will be studied throughout the course.
* Basic double-entry book-keeping
* Purchase ledger
* Sales ledger
* Nominal ledger
* Petty cash
* Cash books
*Bank reconciliations

Progression:
A sound knowledge of Accounting is needed in all organisations nowadays. This qualification is therefore of help in many careers and professions. In addition there are opportunities to enhance your financial expertise by taking more advanced Accounting courses at Southport College.

Exam:
There will be an externally set exam.Students must also complete 2 assignments which are set and marked by OCR.

Level 1 Certificate in Basic Book Keeping.
