Introduction:
This qualification is aimed at people who work face to face with children under the age of 5 in regulated settings in England.

It is designed to support those working in early years to develop and demonstrate the skills and knowledge required to implement the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

All Early Years Practitioners will have to receive training in the new Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). This accredited certificate means that candidates will have evidence of high quality assessed training. Which aims to build on what Early Years practitioners already know. Please note that this is not a full level 3 qualification.

Study Mode & Location:
The course lasts 16 weeks this will be 3 hours in college with 2 hours supported study either at home using internet or in a college learning centre.

Course Content:
The units you will study are as follows:

  • Unit 1 Context and principles for early years provision (6 credits).
  • Unit 2 Promoting learning and development in the early years (6 credits).
  • Unit 3 Promoting children's welfare in the early years (6 credits).


Assessment:
Via observation on placements and a portfolio of assignments based on:

  • A unique child.
  • Positive Relationships.
  • Enabling Environments.
  • Learning and Development.


Careers & Progression Opportunities:
Successful candidates will receive a certificate as evidence of completing the training and assessment to a satisfactory standard. This certificate will have national recognition across England. The qualification is a Continuing Professional Development qualification.

How To Apply
You will need to have an informal interview with an Adult Admissions Adviser.
Many courses have limited places so please enquire as soon as possible. Following interview, the earliest you may enrol is mid-June.
