Information about the course

This qualification course is ideal for complete beginners looking to progress on to other Information Communication Technology (ICT) qualifications. You will learn how to use the internet, email and prepare word processed documents.

With the increasing use of electronic information sources in today's world, the skills required to access information and communication technology (ICT) are becoming just as important as traditional 'basic skills' such as literacy and numeracy. Developing learners' ICT skills is an important aspect of tackling social and economic exclusion.

Additionality

All learners will take part in an initial assesment in Maths and/or English. This helps us to ensure everyone reaches their full potential.

You will need to bring your Student ID Card, Learning Agreement and Invoice. These have your unique ID number to enable you to access the computer.

Some course materials will be provided, however students do need to bring their own memory stick. The tutor may be able to sell you one for approximately £6.00. Please ensure you have adequate funds on the first lesson to cover this as without one you will not be able to save your work.

Results will be forwarded on as soon as they are received at the college. Please note that certificates, where awarded, can take up to 4 months to be received at the college before forwarding on to learners.

Delivery

Classroom based demonstrations and practical hands on completion of exercises and tasks. All students have access to their own PC.
