Course programme
You will receive 51 hours of face to face learning and 40 hours of online and distance learning. The course will cover all elements of the National curriculum for the Certificate in Knowledge of Policing (CKP). This means you will learn the legislation, policy and processes essential for any police officer. The trainer led element of your course will consist of a variety of delivery methods, such as lectures, directed study, group activity, knowledge checks, quizzes and scenarios. This is designed to be varied to help with your learning and recall of the knowledge. The assessment requirement will consist of open questions around different policing scenarios, and also multi-choice questions, which must be successfully completed to be awarded the qualification. The assessments are spread throughout the course so that you do not have the pressure of a big final exam and you will receive feedback on each stage of your written assessments so you can review your progress and focus your learning.
