This is an open-access qualification and no prior qualifications are required. However, it is recommended that individuals should be involved in (or wish to become involved in) establishing and supporting operations and activities in the humanitarian aid sector.

In association with the Fritz InstituteA unique qualification designed for logisticians who work (or aspire to work) in a humanitarian organisation’s logistics functional area. The development of this qualification has been a collaborative venture between a number of humanitarian organisations, the Fritz Institute, based in the United States and the CILT(UK).
What does the course cover?
The qualification covers the detail of the specialst technical areas within a humanitarian aid scenario:
- Humanitarian Aid Supply Chains
- Warehouse and Inventory
- Procurement
- Transport
- Fleet Management
- Import/Export
- Managing a Humanitarian Supply Chain Response
How may I study?
The study method is by supported self study or by a blend of this with face-to-face elements for organizational groups. Individuals will normally exclusively follow the supported self study route.
How is the qualification assessed?The qualification is studied by the competency route.
Each unit is assessed for competence by the production of evidence that meets the criteria of the qualification and demonstrates each candidate's ability to perform at this level.
Candidates can reasonably expect to complete the programme within 18 months, based upon a commitment of 4-5 hours study per week.
