Examinations:
Students have the choice of sitting either computer-based or paper-based exams at both Introductory and Intermediate levels but paper based at advanced level. Computer based examination can be taken at any time during the year however, paper-based exams are held twice a year – in June and December. University Tutorial College (UTC) is an ACCA approved centre for CAT computer-based exams (CBE).
Entry Qualifications: The CAT scheme is open to anyone over 16 years of age. No formal academic qualifications are required to register as a student. (Overseas students must be at least 18 years of age when applying to UTC and must have an IELTS score of 6 or above). Progression:- On completion of the Intermediate level, students progress to Advanced Level.
- On completion of the Introductory level, students progress to Intermediate level.
- On completion of the Advanced level, students require one years training to achieve CAT Professional status.
Students must be registered with ACCA before taking CAT exams. Students may be eligible to claim exemptions on the basis of previous academic qualifications or relevant work experience.
Closing dates for submitting ACCA registration are as follows:
- For June exams - 31 December (of the previous year)
- For December exams - 15th August (of the same year)
These deadlines do not apply for computer-based exams (CBEs), which are available for papers 1 to 4. CBEs can be taken at any time of the year, although students require their ACCA student registration number before they can sit the exam.
Please note that it is the responsibility of the student to register with ACCA as soon as possible. Enrolment on a course at UTC does not automatically register you with ACCA.
