Course programme
You will meet requirement set by your employer. This will likely include an interview and assessment process which is tailored to your apprenticeship position.
Typical academic entry requirements- A Level: AAB-ABB
- BTEC National Diploma: DDD
- IB: 35/34 points
- GCSE Maths and English Grade C
- Have been a UK/EU/EAA resident for the past three years or more prior to starting the course
- Have left full time education when the apprenticeship you are applying for is due to start
- Be aged at least 16 years old to meet government funding criteria
The duration of the course can range from 3 to 4.5 years, on your study route and the position available. Presently, there are two entry points - March and September.
The Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship was designed by employers and in collaboration with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and Aston University.
Through a combination of work-based learning and study, you will be immersed in an organisation’s culture and be fully prepared for the challenges of your sector. Your degree - BSc Leadership and Business Management - is specifically designed for apprentices and is directly applicable to range of careers in business.
Two routes
3 year route: A three year course recommended for experienced managers seeking a formal qualification. Have a look at an example here.
4.5 year route: A four and a half year course recommended for new employees and recent managers in the organisation such as school leavers.
In your first year you will study a wide range of business management topics, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the various functions of management.
Stage 2Explore financial and management accounting in depth. You will learn how to drive innovation in business and how new technology influences operations.
