Overview At a glance This qualification reflects the role of workers participating in the design, implementation and evaluation of leisure, health activities and programs for clients in one or more sector areas. Workers may be in residential facilities and/or in community agencies and day centres, completing specialised tasks and functions in relation to leisure and health. While workers are responsible for their own outputs, work is carried out under direct or indirect supervision within defined organisation guidelines.To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 120 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency.This qualification provides students with skills and knowledge to support personal care for older people in the activities of daily living, and provides students with the skills to commence a career in the community services industry towards a Certificate III Individual Support (Home and Community, and Disability).

Offerings Distance Education with optional workshops

This course is available via Distance Education (online) with optional tutorials at the CQUniversity Gladstone City campus.

Distance students require self-motivation and must have sound literacy and numeracy skills to complete short answer, written assessments and simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Students must have a computer skills, and a computer with internet to access Moodle online.

Optional tutorials are on Monday's from 9am - 12pm.

Additional drop in sessions from 1pm - 4pm.
