Chelsea Drawing and Painting

You can expect to develop a range of skills and an understanding of visual language during this intensive and supportive course. You’ll be introduced to new topics and technical skills, including colour theory, composition and observational drawing. You will be encouraged to experiment with a range of media, including painting, drawing and collage. As you progress over the weeks, you’ll work on your own compositions using techniques and skills gained throughout the course. Basic materials are provided, but you will also benefit from building your own working kit to bring to the class every week. A sketchbook drawing session in a gallery will be included. Details will be provided by your tutor once you start the course. The course will culminate in a group exhibition in your classroom, of the coursework made, with the chance to invite your friends and family.

Course Outcomes
By the end of the course you'll have gained in confidence and created a body of work as a result of exploring different painting and drawing approaches and you will have developed your creative and reflective artistic practice. If you are keen to develop further, you may benefit from repeating the course and continue working in a supported environment to develop a self-directed approach whilst exploring new techniques.
