The Level 3 Certificate in Childcare and Education is studied in year 1 with progression on to the CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education (Early Years Educator). The Diploma will enable you to gain the knowledge and experience that will allow you to work with children from birth to 5 years.
You will study a variety of units inlcuding child development from conception to seven years, children’s health and well-being, understanding children’s additional needs, supporting emergent literacy and mathematics, reflective practice for professional development amongst others.
You will have access to real work environments as you need to show competence in both knowledge and skills, and you will gain experience in a variety of early years settings.

Entry Requirements
You should be at least16 years old, with four GCSEs at grade C or 4 and above to include English and maths.
Delivery and Assessment
All units will be internally assessed using a range of methods. All units are graded A*-D. Learners taking the Certificate must also complete an Effective Practice Study Task. Learners taking the Diploma must also complete an Effective Practice Study Task and one Extended Assessment Task.

You can progress to higher education or into various job roles in the statutory, voluntary or private sectors such as: • Early Years Educator (Diploma only) • Practitioner in day nurseries • Practitioner in nursery schools • Practitioner in reception classes in primary schools • Pre-school worker • Home based childcare • Nanny.
