Employment in schools, day nurseries and playgroups . Students who complete all written work to a high standard and have excellant attendance, punctuality and conduct throughout may progress to the CACHE level 3 extended Diploma in children and young people's workforce which is equivalent to 4 A levels and could lead to university entrance.




You will need:

5 x A* to C grades at GCSE including English and maths;
Satisfactory interview;
Satisfactory DBS (formerly CRB) check;
Satisfactory free writing task and Skillsbuilder test.

Course programme

This is a full-time level 3 course.

You will study a range of units looking at professional skills required to work with children up to the age of 19 in the workplace.

Units will cover:

  • Communication skills,
  • Child development,
  • Professional practice,
  • Children's welfare,
  • Curriculum practice,
  • Safeguarding,
  • Working with parents.

All students complete placements in Early Years' settings on an alternate week basis.

Course Assessment Method

The course will be assessed by your tutor and assessor using a range of methods. This will include assignments and written tasks.You will be assessed in the workplace by an assessor on three seperate occasions throughout the year.

All subjects are compulsory. All students complete compulsory placement on an alternate week basis in an Early Years setting.
