Preparing to work as a home based childcarer
The aim of this unit is to provide learners with the knowledge required to work with children in a home based childcare setting. You’ll learn about current legislation, building a safe environment, and how to safeguard children. You’ll also look at equality and diversity, how day-to-day routines promote well-being, and working in partnership to support children. Finally, gain an understanding of learning behaviours, the value of play, and the role of observation in the childhood development.

Preparing to set up a home based childcare business
This unit prepares learners to set up a home based childcare business. You’ll gain insight into leading and managing a home based care setting, how to comply with financial and taxation requirements, and create a strong business plan. Finally, you’ll learn how to register with the appropriate regulatory body.
