The Level 2 course provides knowledge and understanding in childcare and education to enable individuals to work in a supervised capacity in a variety of childcare settings. It is an ideal programme for those who have achieved 4 GCSEs at C grades or above or an appropriate Level 1 qualification. Students are required to attend college and practical placement training on alternate weeks throughout the year. The Welsh Baccalaureate is also studied as part of this programme.

About this course
Progression and Employment:
Students who successfully complete the course may be eligible to progress on to the Level 3 Diploma, or extended Diploma in Childcare and Education or the BTEC National Certificate / Diploma in Childrens Care Learning and Development. Those who enter employment would be eligible to work with children under supervision in a variety of settings eg. Primary and Nursery Schools, Childrens Centres, Day Nurseries and Additional Needs provisions.
