This course is designed for anyone who is working in a catering environment where food is prepared, cooked and/or handled. Food safety training is essential in ensuring that high quality and safe food is delivered to all. The CIEH Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering covers the following topics:
- Introduction to food safety
- The Law Food safety hazards
- Taking temperatures
- Refrigeration, chilling and cold holding of foods
- Cooking, hot holding and re-heating of foods
- Food handlers
- Principles of safe storage
- Cleaning Food premises and equipment
The course is tutor led consisting of a variety of activities and learning resources and cumulates in the candidates taking a multiple-choice exam, of which at least 20 oout of 30 questions must be answered correctly in order to successful pass. The course can be tailored to suit the individual and bespoked needs of the organisation/employer, with the option of undertaking a non-accreditated version available. In this instance a in-house SafeHands Training and Development certificate will be provided.
