Untitled PageFull description
If you were awarded a qualifying law degree or Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) in the last seven years, this CILEx Graduate Fast-track Diploma will allow you to qualify as a Chartered Legal Executive Lawyer and a CILEx Fellow.
As a Chartered Legal Executive Lawyer you'll be able to develop your career as a judge, advocate, coroner or a partner in a law firm.
To gain this CILEx Graduate Fast-track Diploma qualification, you'll need to complete two practice units and one professional skills unit:
- Unit 15 Civil Litigation (Practice)
- Unit 17 Conveyancing (Practice)
- Unit 22 Client Care Skills (Professional Skills).
You'll need to register with CILEx as an Associate Member in order to join this course, which will cost £185 (annual subscription) together with a one-off registration fee of £40 (non-refundable). You will also need to obtain exemption from CILEx for your Qualifying Law Degree, for which a one-off fee of £200 is payable to CILEx. Exam costs are not included and will be payable directly to CILEx when registering for examinations. As an Associate Member, you'll be entitled to use the designatory letters ACILEx after your name.
This course is likely to be eligible for employer funding and may be eligible for a Professional Career Development Loan (PCDL), available from Co-op and Barclays banks.
NB: to become a CILEx Fellow you'll also need to complete three years' qualifying employment. Specific details may be found on the CILEx website.
*To complete the Diploma in one year you'll need to attend classes on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. However, you can also choose to study one day a week and complete the course in just under two years.
