This course is aimed at those who work or want to work as administrators or secretaries within the legal sector. You will study legal word processing and digital audio where you will learn how to lay out legal documents and learn legal terminology. You will also learn about legal organisations, the legal profession and the role of the legal secretary. Topics covered include how to operate office equipment, working with others, managing your workload, diary management and organising travel and events. You will learn how to touch type and gain a high level of word processing skills which are essential for the legal profession. As part of the course you will be required to undetake work experience in a legal office.

Entry Requirements
You will need a minimum of grade C or (4/5) at GCSE English and a further three academic subjects at GCSE grade D or (3) or above. You will also be asked to complete a practical task (Proofreading) to make sure this is the right course for you.
Delivery and Assessment
The Legal Secretaries qualification is assessed mainly through assignments with some external exams.
Progression
After completing your course you may want to progress to our Level 3 CILEX Legal Secretaries Certificate or Diploma (based on GCSE English and Maths results) or our Business Administration/Studies courses.
