Course programme
CCNA Exploration offers in-depth theory, challenging labs, and a detailed overview of protocol operations. It is designed for those with advanced problem solving and analytical skills, such as degree candidates in engineering, maths, or science, or for working professionals who would like to advance their careers or gain certification.
The course material is split into two units. Units 1-2 are equivalent to 140 hours of learning, to provide students with a basic foundation in networking.
Unit one
- Computer hardware and software, electricity, networking, networking terminology and protocols,
- LANs and WANs, open systems interconnection (OSI) model, ethernet and internet protocol addressing,
- design and documentation of a basic network and structured cabling,
- network-to-network communications.
Unit two
- Router user interfaces, components and configurations,
- basics of IOS versions, naming and software backup,
- TCP/IP Protocol suite and IP addressing and subnetting,
- interior routing protocols RIP, IGRP,
- access Control Lists (ACLs).
Entry Requirements
