Who is this course for?

This 4 part course (of which this is part 3) provides a comprehensive theoretical and practical approach to learning the technologies and protocols needed to design, configure and implement a computer network. It prepares you for the CCNA examination which is a professional level qualification recognised by employers and those in the networking industry. CCNA certification leads to employment opportunities as network technicians, administrators and IT support. The course consists of four semesters leading to a CCNA academy certification and an option to take the CCNA qualification for additional costs.

What qualifications or experience do I need ?

CCNA - Scaling Networks is the second course. You are required to have already passed CCNA - Routing and Switching Essentials. Materials are comprehensive but require excellent reading and study skills. Materials are comprehensive but require excellent reading and study skills.

What will I study ?

Students will study how to configure routers and switches for advanced functionality. By the end of this course, students will be able to configure and troubleshoot routers and switches and resolve common issues with OSPF, EIGRP, and STP.

How will I be assessed ?

Each module is assessed through a combination of multiple choice examinations and practical skills demonstration. There is a final proctored examination held on-site. You will need to complete each semester with an average grade of 75% to be able to progress to the next.

What qualifications could I achieve ?

You will be given a Cisco Networking Academy Programme Certificate for each semester of the course you complete. The Cisco Certified Networking Academy programme only prepares you for the final CCNA examination. To achieve the complete CCNA qualification you will need to pass an intensive on-line test (a fee is payable not included in course fee) which can be taken independently at any time from a Pearson VUE Testing Centre, including the one at Barnet and Southgate College.
