City and Guilds Diploma in Motor Vehicle Body and Repair Level 1

If you want a career in the motor body repair industry, this course is for you.

You will study:

• accident body repair,
• vehicle construction and design,
• removing and replacing body panels,
• removing and replacing MET (Mechanical, Electrical and Trim components,
• valeting - both the interior and the exterior of the vehicle,
• introduction to technology, workshop processes and welding.

Coursework consists of theory and practical assessments of all the subjects.

Please note: you will develop body repair skillsand you are encouraged to attend a work placement to develop your skills and knowledge of the body repair industry.

Entry Requirements

• A minimum of three GCSEs grade D or above, including English language, maths and a science or technology
• a pass at entry level 3 in Motor Vehicle and entry level 3 English and maths.
• a multi-choice mechanical aptitude test (70), and
• a course guidance interview.
