Candidates who successfully complete the assessment will receive a City and Guilds 6020-03 Domestic Energy Assessor qualification. Suitable for: Programme is intended ideally for candidates whose current employment provides experience of relevance to Units 1 and 2 of the Diploma in respect of working in an effective and professional manner and contributing to the safety and security of people and property. However, the course is designed on the basis that they have no relevant knowledge of experience of domestic energy assessments before starting the programme.

There are no entry/pre-requisite requirements. However a knowledge and understanding of construction methods and/or heating systems will be beneficial.

Course programme
This training programme has been designed for those either wishing to become Domestic Energy Assessors or who wish to progress to qualify as Home Inspectors. It is for anyone new to this profession and need a comprehensive programme of training and assessment to deliver the knowledge and skills they will require in their new role.
Energy assessment is an essential component of the Domestic Energy Assessor/Home Inspectors skills and the SWAAT new entrant training and assessment programme has been configured to allow candidates to achieve the Diploma in Domestic Energy Assessment at an interim stage.
COURSE CONTENT
Workshop 1 - Introduction to Diploma and Portfolio Building;
Provides candidates will all they need to get underway with the assessment process for the Diploma
Workshop 2 - House Construction, Survey, Heating and Controls
Helps candidates develop their knowledge base and identification skills.
Workshop 3 - RDSAP Methodology/Portfolio building
Provides candidates with the understanding of the methodology and the associated conventions that they need to undertake a Domestic Energy Assessment.
