Course Aims:
This course has been designed in consultation with the Travel and Tourism Industry to introduce you to a range of subjects relevant to the industry and to enhance your personal qualities and employability skills..

Course Content:
Units covered in this qualification include but are not limited to :-
World wide travel and tourism
UK travel and tourism
Health and safety
Itinery planning
Workplace communication skills

Progression:
First Diploma in Travel and Tourism or an alternative Level 2 programme.

Qualification:
City and Guilds Introductory Diploma / Award in Travel and Tourism.

Level:
One

Professional Appearance:
Good standards of personal hygeine and presentation in line with Industry requirements.

Notes:

Students who do not have GCSEs at grade C or above in Maths and English are also required to study these subjects to complete their qualification.

Other Costs:
Exam and course fees may be payable if the student is over 19 years of age. Any external visits may incurr a cost to the student. Details can be discussed at interview.

Duration:
One year fulltime

Assessment:

The qualification is assessed through student course work and portfolio evidence. There will also be some on line tests.
