Course programme
The course is very creative, stimulating, and fulfilling, but it does require commitment. It leads to a nationally recognised qualification so it can open up all sorts of new opportunities in life. You will explore colour, line, texture, shape, and form as part of the design branch of the course, and you will then take what you have learnt on to the 'sampling' modules in which you will experiment with materials and ideas to build a personal and exciting portfolio. These two core areas of study will build the foundations and teach you the skills, to go on to produce two finished items of a high standard, perhaps an accessory such as a bag or cushion, and a bed quilt, or a wall hanging. Once enrolled you have three years in which to complete, at your own pace. There are no exams - your course work is assessed as you go along. Your course work will come to you online, as PDF files, and you will be able to interact with your tutor by email, whether it is to send images of completed work, or to ask questions. To do this you will need to be able to send in high-resolution images of your work, so access to a digital camera is essential.
