City & Guilds 2377 PAT Testing (Portable Appliance Testing)
City & Guilds 2377 is a course to provide an overview of the latest edition of the IEE Code of Practice for In-Service Inspection & Testing of Electrical Equipment.
The Code of Practice (COP) provides guidance on the inspection and testing of electrical appliances, Luminaires, IT equipment supplied by a plug and socket, and similar equipment.
The COP is written both for administrators with responsibility for electrical maintenance (who may have little technical knowledge) and the staff who carry out the inspections and tests.
This course prepares candidates for the multiple-choice exam for 2377 certification. The exam comprises a 30-question multi-choice test lasting 1 hour. It is set and marked by City & Guilds, but run by Gastec Training in Milton Keynes.
Course Framework
The course is divided into 6 sections:
- Structure of the COP
- Construction and classification of equipment
- Inspection and Testing
- Part 3 of the COP - Appendices
- Practical test
- Multi-choice, open-book, on-line exam.
