Entry qualifications

Candidates are expected to have already achieved C&G 2360 Pt 2, C&G 2330 Level 3 or C&G 2351 Level 3 and C&G 2382 17th Edition. It is expected that they already have a basic knowledge of inspection and testing and be employed in the electrical industry.

Course content

The course covers all aspects of the inspection and testing of an electrical installation to meet the standards required by the IEE 17th Edition of the Wiring Regulations. There will be practical training on how to conduct the dead and live tests and how to complete the necessary documentation, together with an in-depth study of the regulatory requirements for both initial and periodic testing.

Successful candidates will have the necessary qualification for JIB 'Approved Electrician' status.

When will I receive my results?

Results will be forwarded on as soon as they are received at the college. Please note that certificates, where awarded, can take up to 4 months to be received at the college before forwarding on to learners.

Assessment

Written exam plus practical assessment. Both must be passed to gain qualification.
