Course Overview:
This course covers all the main skills required to install, fault find and inspect and test electric vehicle charging points. This is a new sector where electricians can train to become a specialist installer. Given the high prices of petrol and diesel, more people are turning to electric vehicles.

Entry Requirements: Entry Requirement Candidates must have a full working knowledge of the following requirements: Be able to correctly install and terminate pvc/pvc cable (twin and earth) and Steel Wire armoured cable (swa) Know the different earthing installation requirements i.e. TT, TNS, TNCS Be able to carry out an initial verification (inspection & testing) on an electrical installation and complete the necessary paperwork. Note: These competencies are required for the assessment and are not taught as part of the course. It is expected that candidates possess relevant trade qualification and/or have a working knowledge of the electrical industry. Each application is considered on individual merit; however formal qualifications may not be required dependant on experience.

Additional Information: Course Structure This is a 1 day course consisting of classroom instruction, a practical examination and a 1 hour open book examination Course Materials On attendance of the course, you will need to bring the following: • IET Code of Practice for Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment Installations+ (3rd Edition) Your own test equipment and in date calibration certificate (we can provide test equipment if required) Please note this is an intensive full day course with a 8.30am start and a finish time of approximately 7pm DEADLINE FOR BOOKINGS WITH COMPLETED ENROLMENT IS TWO WEEKS PRIOR TO COMMENCEMENT OF TRAINING
