City & Guilds 6129 Plumbing Technical Certificate

Leading to City & Guilds 6089 NVQ Level 2

The RF Training professional plumbing course covers all aspects of domestic plumbing, fault finding, maintenance and domestic drainage.

The plumbing course is split into two parts: theory training on the understanding of plumbing systems and practical training to provide you with all your necessary plumbing skills.

The full-time plumbing course consists of eight weeks intensive plumbing training . Alternatively you have the option to complete the course over a period of time under our flexible learning scheme

All plumbing course classes will start at 8.30am and finish at 5.00pm.

Course - Theory

The theory side will cover the following plumbing modules:

  • Health and Safety
  • Common Processes in Plumbing & Heating systems
  • Cold Water
  • Hot Water
  • Sanitation Systems
  • Below Ground Drainage Systems
  • Central Heating Systems & Controls
  • Design of Central Heating Systems
  • Basic Electrics
  • Fault Finding and Maintenance

Course - Practical

Practical work will cover the following tasks:

  • Pipe bending and jointing skills for copper tube to City and Guild requirements
  • Installing and testing sanitary ware and waste pipework to City and Guilds requirements
  • Installing and commissioning bathroom suites
  • Fabricate and install steel pipework
  • Use of Plastic push fit plumbing systems
  • Install and commission hot water cylinders and cold water cisterns
  • Install Central Heating Systems
  • Install Electrical Central Heating Controls
  • Install/replace Immersion heaters
  • Install/replace electric showers
  • Install mixer type showers
  • Install and commission radiators

It doesn't stop there!

If you wish to continue with your personal development you have the option to achieve an NVQ Level 2 upon completion of the RF Training Professional Plumbers Course and the 6129 Plumbing Technical Certificate.

In order to achieve your Plumbing NVQ (City & Guilds 6089) you must build an acceptable portfolio of evidence and undertake on-site assessments that can be arranged via the plumbing training centre .
